The annual BP Portrait Award is the most prestigious portrait competition in the world, promoting the very best in contemporary portrait painting. From 2372 international entries, the judges selected a final 55 works to be displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in London from 16th June – 18th September 2011.
Among the final works selected is a portrait of hip hop performer Scroobius Pip by my friend Leigh Glover.
Leigh studied at Oxford Brookes University and Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, London. His work has been in the exhibitions of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (2008) and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2009) and the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize 2010.
